The idea of an unelected and unaccountable Quango dictating to parents is morally abhorrent.

It is a disgrace that such a major change can be made with no regard for the family’s that are, apparently, at the centre of these communities. The negative response has been overwhelming, yet the board has refused to respond.

It’s bonkers to try to enforce their decision on the parents. For parents who may have children at more than one school or be a teacher at another school, having different holidays may cause huge problems.

It saddens me that a MAT built around the principles of faith has has so little consideration for the family life of the pupils it strives to support. To have to split my family up at such a precious time of the year is appalling. I also feel for the teachers and their own families/children (who were also not consulted in the decision making process) as many will be spending time apart from each other at Christmas. With so many stakeholders against the decision it is very disappointing that a further statement has not been released by the Lumen Christi board. I fear that this is one decision the MAT board will not recover from, as many people have lost their trust in them as a credible leadership team.

Not happy at all I work at a school so will have almost a week off without my children and then a week with them, when I return to work the children will be off for another week with my husband ( who will have to take holiday to cover this) giving us less time together at our favorite and most important part of the year. This is a silly attempt to increase the intake into tommies and I am so worried that other holidays will be disrupted as well.

We have a child in a secondary school. We still can’t opt for a cheaper break based on the academy dates because we would get fined by secondary school. Also comes down to additional costs and care that we would need.
